Family Council |
 A Family Council is an organized, self-led, self-determining, democratic group composed of family and friends of the residents of long term care homes.
The Markhaven Family Council meets every other month on Tuesday nights. All families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Speakers are invited to each meeting to educate members about Long Term Care and issues that affect residents and families. Families are also encouraged to get involved and lobby on issues that affect the industry.
Family members who attend the meetings also have an opportunity to meet other family members who share the same concerns and they support each other both with information and with morale and emotional support.
